About Me

My photo
I'm a bit of a born-again wargamer! I played many of the Games Workshop games when I was in my teens and early twenties, but left the hobby behind when I went to University. Over the last few years I have gradually got back into it and am literally having a ball! I'll play pretty much anything now, ranging from ancient historical to the far future! I think that I get more out of the painting side of things than actually playing, but that might just be because I get more opportunity. Hence the title...this blog is all about the colour of war!!

Infinity Line Kazaks

A couple of weeks ago, one of the Glasgow Games Group club members, Spencer Warner passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer. I can't claim to have really known Spence but he did go out of his way to welcome me to the club on the first couple of weeks I attended and from talking to other club members he was highly regarded and active in the club and will be sadly missed. He also managed to get other members good deals on books and figures through his trader links and I got a really good bundle of Infinity Ariadna figures and the rule book and expansion for about half price. Now, readers of this blog may recall my mum passed away from cancer last year so I can really empathise with his family and friends and it crossed my mind to make a small gesture of respect and try to raise a few quid for Macmillan Cancer Care (which is the charity that Spence's family directed us to give to if we wanted to do something). I recalled that the figures I got from Spence included some duplicate Line Kazaks so I thought it would be quite fitting to splash some paint on them and sell them on eBay and donate the proceeds. So, here they are! These are up on eBay and if you fancy some half-decent sci-fi figures, or know someone that does, and want to aid a worthy charity then please feel free to bid or spread the word!

Pulpy goodness!

Back from a rather soggy holiday in Dorset! We actually cut it short because the caravan park flooded and they closed up! The most painful part? The storm hit on the Friday before Battlegroup South at Bovington Tank Museum and I never made it! So when we got back I thought I'd console myself with starting my Strange Aeons Threshold figures. This guy will be an agent. He is from the "Frankie's Fingermen" pack from Copplestone and he is a cracking sculpt! The suit is Foundry Granite and the shirt Foundry Arctic Grey/White. I sculpted the floorboard base from ProCreate, but I think it needs a wash of Devlan Mud or something to smooth the highlights out.

Oh, and I really need to get batteries for my camera! The camera in my phone is alright, but the pictures could be a lot better...
